You’ll certainly find plenty of beaches in Protaras, and each one is unique. This is ideal for ensuring that everyone who visits the area can find the beach that perfectly suits their own needs. You’ll find fun-packed beaches with a party atmosphere, safe, shallow beaches full of amenities for families with young children, and there are also some super quiet beaches for those of you who prefer a little peace and solitude to relax, unwind and let the stresses of life slip away. Here are four fantastic beaches a little further away from the usual tourist spots that you won’t find overcrowded. Taking time to discover them is well worth it when you find your own perfect piece of paradise.

Malama Beach

Malama Beach

You’re not likely to find a more peaceful beach than Malama Beach. This pretty beach is so picturesque, you must remember to take your camera. While it offers the ultimate in peace and tranquillity, you can also take part in water sports here so it’s ideal if you’re travelling with a partner who wants to sunbathe while you are more energetic or vice versa.

MMAD Beach

MMAD Beach is a beautiful spot, perfectly sheltered by the rocks and caves making it a calm and relaxing area even on a breezy day. This small beach is so idyllic with its crystal-clear blue waters that it has been awarded Blue Flag status. If you’re wondering why it’s called MMAD Beach, well MMAD is the name of the Cyprus Police Force and their headquarters are located close to this beach. You’ll find basic amenities here such as a shower and sun loungers and there’s a cafe close by too.

Armiropigado The Scouts Beach

Armiropigado – The Scout’s Beach

Perhaps the most remote of all our quiet beaches, Armiropigado can be found in a remote corner of Protaras close to Kapparis Avenue. Next to the beach, you will find the scout’s camp from which this beach takes its nickname. Hardly any tourists even know this beach exists, yet it still has plenty of amenities such as a cafe, toilets and umbrellas. There’s a car park very close to the beach and look out for the passing ice cream salesman for a cooling treat on a hot day.

The Beach with no name

The Beach with no name

This beach is so secret, we haven’t even been able to find out the name of it. It’s a small bay with high rocks that are great for sunbathing on and popular for fishing too. You can find this secret beach by following the dirt road from the MMAD beach car park we’ve mentioned above and continuing over the hill. You’ll have a beautiful view on your way too!
